Liveable Maitland
- Commencement of Chisholm sportsground
- Develop a Community Infrastructure Strategy
- Implement the actions of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan
- Completion of the Melville Ford Bridge project
Every year, we develop a plan detailing how we will invest in our city and deliver key services and infrastructure that bring to life our community's vision for a connected city with thriving communities. In 2025-26, we plan to invest $229.2 million to make that happen.
From 17 April to 19 May 2025, you’re invited to review and provide feedback on a suite of key strategic documents, including the Draft Delivery Program 2025–2029 and Operational Plan 2025–26, Draft Fees and Charges 2025–26, and Draft Resourcing Maitland’s Future 2025–2029.
These documents outline how Council will deliver on the community priorities set out in Maitland’s Future, our Community Strategic Plan.
Together, they detail how we plan to deliver services, invest in infrastructure, and plan responsibly for Maitland’s growth — backed by a draft operating budget of $163.8 million and a capital works investment of $65.4 million in 2025–26.
From major projects and service improvements to financial and workforce planning, our goal is to support a connected city with thriving communities.
Have your say
The draft suite of documents are on public exhibition between 17 April and 19 May 2025. The following draft documents are available for review and comment:
All draft documents are available for viewing and download in the document library.
We encourage you to explore these documents to see how we’ll turn our strategic vision into action and have your say via the link below.
Your submission is used by Council to assist in it's decision making process. All formal submissions will be considered by Council to help inform the preparation of the final plan.
Delivering on Maitland’s vision for the future, our Delivery Program outlines our detailed plans for the next four years, clearly showing how we will achieve the priorities in Maitland’s Future.
The Delivery Program represents each newly elected Council’s commitment to the community. It translates the community’s long-term goals into clear and actionable steps, serving as the primary reference point for all Council activities during its term. This program helps us determine what is achievable over the next four years, prioritise key initiatives, and schedule programs effectively.
Our Operational Plan is Maitland’s action plan for achieving the community priorities. Prepared and adopted each year by Council, it details the specific projects, programs, and actions we will deliver to fulfil our commitments.
Resourcing Maitland’s Future is our roadmap for how we will implement and resource our vision to support service delivery. The resourcing strategy is a crucial document linking our vision and delivery of Maitland’s Future, detailing the resources needed to implement the priorities and objectives. The resourcing strategy outlines how we will achieve the priorities in Maitland’s Future in terms of our people, our assets and our finances.
The Fees and Charges document outlines fees for services, including aquatic centre fees, parks and recreational fees and building certificate and subdivision fees. Fees and charges are put on public exhibition for comment each year before being adopted by Council.
We acknowledge the Wonnarua People as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land within the Maitland Local Government Area. Council pays respect to all Aboriginal Elders, past, present and future with a spiritual connection to these lands.
