Thank you to everyone who had their say on the Draft Waste Management Policy, which was on public exhibition from 4 December 2024 to 2 February 2025.

Following the exhibition and review of community feedback, the policy has now been adopted by Council.

One of the key outcomes from the feedback received was the decision to retain the current operating hours at the Maitland Waste Facility. This change reflects the community’s input and Council’s commitment to responsive, transparent waste management planning.

The policy sets out Council’s approach to sustainable waste management, with a focus on reducing environmental impact, increasing resource recovery, and providing reliable waste services for the community.
