James Street Reserve in Morpeth is a elevated and picturesque reserve wedged between residential housing in Morpeth and currently used as a passive recreational space.

The landscaping plan seeks to enhance the current sites' amenity and which is in keeping with community needs, and preserves the viewing corridor.

What we heard during community consultation

We heard firsthand from residents about their love for the open space and views of the rural lands, as well as how the space is currently used. We had lots of great ideas and suggestions for the space and how it could look and function in the future.

The top 3 elements the respondents said they would like to see included as the future activities and facilities were:

  • A community garden
  • Small tree planting
